Email
Email is one way we communicate everyday. However, there are individuals out there that use email to harm and take advantage of people. The following Xtranormal video highlights what you should be watchful for in emails you receive.
What to watch out for (or what not to do)!
Flamemail
An e-mail, bulletin board or newsgroup message in which the writer attacks another person in overly harsh and personal terms. Flamemail (Flames) are an unfortunate, but inevitable, element of unmoderated email discussions or using online conference resources.
Spam
Spam is often considered to be junk email. Some people define spam as any unsolicited email, however, if a long-lost relative sends you a message, this could hardly be called spam, even though it is unsolicited. Real spam is generally email advertising for some product sent to a email list or newsgroup. It also includes emails asking you to send a message to 5 more people to receive goodluck or some other reward for spreading some message.
Malicious Code
Malicious code describes any code in any part of a software system or script in a program that is intended to cause undesired effects, security breaches or damage to a system (crashes). Malicious code describes a broad category of system security terms that includes attack scripts, computer/web viruses, worms, Trojan horses, backdoor programs, and malicious active content that are often sent in emails. If it is not from some organization or person you are familiar with don't open it.
